RAVE: Northern Essence Diaper Salve

I don't know about you, but when I come across something awesome, I like to rave about it and give it the lovin' it deserves. That said, I looove Northern Essence products. Warning: gushing to follow.

Gabe had a really bad diaper rash, and I still don't know what caused it. I could not find anything that would save his poor little bum from looking like a bumpy tomato. (Balmex, Calendula Oil and Aveeno only took the redness away; lanolin kept it from getting worse. Going diaper free helped but didn't clear it as was the same for warm, oatmeal baths.)

Anyway, a long story short, I read on a message board that a lot of mamas have been using Northern Essence Diaper Salve (the tea tree oil and lavender free version) on their babies' rumps, and so I ordered a small tube. It only took a few applications before the rash cleared; his rear looks soooo much better and feels as smooth as, well, a baby's butt! It's relatively inexpensive and made of only natural ingredients (no chemicals!). Also, for you fellow cloth-diapering mamas, it's safe to use with cloth diapers.

Also, it smells awesome, and it comes in a push-up tube so you can apply directly to baby's (cleaned) bum. And to do the cleaning, I ordered the foaming wipes solution, too; I also like it very much, and it smells good enough to eat, which Gabe has tried attempted so be sure to keep it out of the little ones' reach!

I'm hoping to try a few of the mama-type products like the facial soap, the nursing butter and body butter. I'll be sure to rave about them if they are worthy of lovin'. Something's telling me that this is only the beginning of a love affair with NE; you might find me cuddling the salve tonight. No yucky chemicals + great smell + great results + great price = one very pleased mama.
