I wrapped up Water for Elephants a few days ago, and I really enjoyed the story. I'm in the process of writing a review, and I promise to post it sometime during the next few days.
I've been really torn about which book to read next; it was a hard choice, but I think we need to read something a little different than the last two books, which both read like memoirs. So without further delay, get a copy of Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Patton and start reading it for our third book choice. Please know that this is a very different book from the past two in terms of style and story. I do believe, however, we'll all enjoy it; I'm just going to have to ban myself from comparing it to the last two books. Let's aim to finish reading this book in one and half weeks, which makes our end date Wednesday, July 16. I want us to try and finish early so that we can read a bonus book that is not on the list before summer ends!
