The Bigger Picture: Redirection

My heart is still so heavy for the Haitian people that I really cannot even force myself to write about anything else tonight. I've been praying quite a bit, but it doesn't seem like I'm doing enough even though prayer is the most essential thing we humans can do.
So if you're heart is reeling for the hurt in Haiti, could I point you to a missionary family's blog* who has been serving the people in the devasted country for the past four years so you, too, will know exactly for what we should pray?

*Many thanks to Heather from The Extraordinary Ordinary for introducing her readers to this family!

  1. Oh...tell me about it. I can't seem to turn Haiti "off". But not like the kind of turning "off" like you can't take your eyes of the accident on the side of the road or that trainwreck that is Jersey Shore. The kind of "can't turn off" because you feel that as a human being, and a priviledged one at that, it's your duty. It's part of the guilt you feel you should feel and feel regardless. By watching and keeping them at the top of your thoughts that somehow, your vibes of compassion and your prayers will make a difference.

  2. I'm overwhelmed. I just visited the missionary family blog. The details of the horror and fear make your heart ache. Just as they write, I will also: Drop on your knees and pray for Haiti.

There's nothing better than good conversation ... but not while talking to myself. Will you play a part in this discussion?

AND will you pretty please have your email linked to your account or leave it for me so I can respond?

Thanks for taking the time to make these thoughts into conversation.
