How often do we reason that the ride down cannot possibly be that bad while we're perched on that high
only to realize a few seconds too late that we're in a little over our heads.
And once you're on that slippery slope down, there's not much you can do to stop
unless someone catches you, saving you from hitting rock bottom.
Thank God for the ones who realize you were in too deep, and then race to the rescue, offer a shoulder to cry on
and give you the courage to try something new.
Thank God for the people who stand by your side until you get your barrings and are ready to ride again. And then stand nearby, always ready, ever encouraging.
Thank God for the first responders.
This post is dedicated with gratitude to my blogging first responders, Corinne, Jenn, Rose, Michelle, Julie and Kelly, who are always quick to catch me and offer support when I feel like I just jumped off a cliff. I hope this makes up for me not having been able to respond to some of the really sweet blog awards I've been gifted.

I love you Hy!
I am so very thankful God has placed us in each others lives! You truly are my sister in Christ!
Aw! First off- thank you!
Secondly- this post is awesome. I love how such a simple everyday activity at the playground is something so profound.
You are amazing :)
I had tears in my eyes before even getting to your dedication... love you!
I couldn't wait to be a first responder on this post because it was so full of meaningful and beautiful analogy and I wanted to reach out and hug the little one, his face so full of terror. And then I saw my name!
No, THANK YOU. I am blessed to have you as a blogging buddy. I look forward to your posts everyday and appreciate your encouragement on my health journey :-).
Hey everyone above me! Notice all the first responders are indeed first responders? ha!
Awww, thank you, Hyacynth! That's so sweet - and I love the visuals of this post, too. He's such a cutie, and it's so apt.
