Five-Minute Friday: Quiet

There is pregnant silence

the kind that is quietly laboring

and bearing down

and contracting the muscles of the heart

as I sit in the stillness of early morning

about to birth a change in heart and thought

conviction.

A friend once told me to be careful

and carefully pick the hills on which

I would choose not only to run up

and standatop breathless and winded

heart pounding

but also the hills on which

I would choose to die.

And I know

as I reach the point

where I think I just can't do this

I let go

the heart changes

and beauty is birthed

from a dying of my strength

and goodness

and justice

and trusting in His.

Five Minute Friday

  1. Awesome imagery! I've recently found that His quiet strength has also helped me to let go of things I have no control over. It's so awesome that He can give us all the strength we need, and He never loses any of His own.

  3. "I let go" YES! That is THE place to be...it is never too overwhelming when we let go and trust Him who knows best. Not easy mind you....but it brings such peace!

There's nothing better than good conversation ... but not while talking to myself. Will you play a part in this discussion?

AND will you pretty please have your email linked to your account or leave it for me so I can respond?

Thanks for taking the time to make these thoughts into conversation.
