Transparency: Part Two, Three and Four

Don't miss the first post about Transparency, which was from earlier in the afternoon on Friday, January 20, 2017 or these stories will NOT make sense! You don't want to miss out on this incredible story of faithfulness and hope!

Friday, January 20, 2017 11:00 p.m.

It's what I felt like God was whispering into my ear today before transparently sharing some of the story of hope and love God has been unfolding in our lives.
Behold God. Ponder God. Remember that God is the one who parts the sea, who set the world into motion, who raises the broken to life.
So this morning, while we yet had $6,283 to go, I spent time beholding God. And as I did, He kept saying, just be faithful to what I've invited you to do and remember I am enough.
Tonight some dear friends friends shared some of our story ... and tonight three people from their circle gave ... one giving $3,600 directly to our agency.
Another friend purchased a painting from us and brought us another $200 closer to sending our paperwork.
So this morning, as I beheld and remembered who God was and praised God, there was $6,283 to go and yet God said there is enough.
And tonight before I go to sleep, there is only $2,483 left to go.
And there is still enough because God is still enough and He is still moving hearts toward His own heart, which is love.
Please please please -- continue to pray with us but also continue to praise with us.
Behold God. He is enough and He makes all things possible.

Well, sit down because you're going to want to have a chair beneath you if you're like me.
As of tonight, we have only $1.333 out the $8,000 needed to go before we can send our paperwork to L and get the adoption started there.
That means that in less than two weeks, nearly $7,000 has been given, gathered, earned and saved. $7,000.
It seems unreal. But then there is God, and He is the God who is enough and makes enough and turns the impossible to possible.
Tonight, very dear family members wrote us a generous check and a very meaningful card. I can't show the inside because it says our girl's name but they said I could share the sentiments:
"There are things and there are opportunities. Some things may have an emotional component but most things sit and collect dust.
Last week I turned one of those things into an opportunity to help bring {our girl} home. We love her!"
As I read the words, I realized the deep wisdom embed.
Things are things; they lose value over time more often than not. But lives are inherently valuable and lives don't lose their value. People's lives are worth our investments, be it time, money or other resources because lives are deeply valuable and deeply valued by God. So valued that God gave us Himself in the flesh when He gave us Jesus.
What a beautiful note to settle in on and ponder tonight. Thank you, God, for the people you send to be part of doing the work of your heart! Amen!
Only $1,300 to go, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds ... God, you always amaze me with how you grow us closer to love.

Sometimes the biggest mountains God moves are the mountains in our hearts.
On Friday night my friend Kristin prayed a very big prayer ... that God would miraculously move and we would have all the money needed to send our paperwork by Monday morning.
Monday as in tomorrow.
I was awed by her boldness and her faith to ask people to pray for the same.
And then she sat in expectancy, that the Father would hear our cries and meet our great need by moving the mountains that needed to move.
I joined her in her bold prayer and asked God to move mightily ... but my expectation, well, I wasn't really totally sure about Monday being super realistic. I hoped that we would have it by February 5 at the latest.
This morning our pastor talked about how in order to avoid cynicism we have to be grounded in reality.
We need to be real about where we are, how we are doing and how we are feeling.
But being grounded in reality doesn't stop there.
Because as we express and get real about where we are ... we also need to be grounded in the reality of who God is.
God is a God who parts seas. God is a God who brings the broken to life and beauty from dust. God is a God who moves mountains ... even and especially the ones in my very own heart.
Oh, me of little faith.
How often I remember to be real in my struggle but forget to remember the reality of who God is in the midst of the struggles.
How often I forget that remembering who God is grounds me in very real reality of an infinitely creative and loving God who isn't just far off but is Immanuel, God with us.
Tonight we shared with the kids the miracle of God moving in hearts, the beauty of faith and action when combined.
We asked the kids of God could have dropped the money on the doorstep via check or carrier pigeon.
They laughed and said, of course!
But He didn't. He brought most of it through people. People who not only heard a need but when prompted in their hearts, also moved and gave to something they wanted to have a part in.
It was powerful to see them understand that when God stirs in our hearts we must be stirred to action to make a difference no matter the situation or circumstances in which the stirring of our hearts occurs ... and it will be different for everyone.
It was powerful for them to witness the coming together in love of a community through prayers and gifts and encouragement.
And it was powerful for me ... powerful enough for God to move the mountains of fear in my heart and send them colliding right into mountains of faith.
So ... tomorrow morning, Monday morning, by the power of God and the movement of His people, we have a complete $8,000 to send to our agency so the translation of our dossier begin and the adoption process can begin in our daughter's country!!!! Step two cleared!
Thank you, friends, for your investment of time, love, prayer and funds. We are deeply appreciative.

And now to Him who is able to do abundantly more than we can ask or imagine, to Him be the glory!!!
